SIBU: A man sustained injuries after his car skidded and crashed into the ditch at Kanowit roundabout here yesterday.
According to Sibu Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Andy Alie, a team of personnel from Kanowit fire and rescue station promptly responded to the accident following a distress call received at 9.52 am.
“Upon reaching the scene, the team found the 25-year-old driver had been rescued by members of the public before the team’s arrival,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The injured victim was subsequently handed over to the paramedics for further medical attention.
However, the extent of his injuries is not known.
“Once the operation was successfully concluded, the team returned to the station,” he said.
