Man killed after crashing car into tree

MIRI: A 32-year-old man died after his car crashed into a tree along the Miri-Pujut Road this afternoon (June26).

A team of firemen from the Miri Central fire station and emergency services rushed to the scene at about 12.30pm after receiving a report on the accident. 

They found the man semiconscious and injured in the driver’s seat.  

After removing the man from the car, they handed him over to paramedics who rushed him to the Miri Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Departmenf chief, Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, prior to the incident, the man, identified as Tiong Seng Hong, was on his way to the city centre from Pujut.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
