KUCHING: A local man was killed after his car crashed into a tree at Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho yesterday.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu stated that the incident occurred around 7.10pm.
The driver identified as 34-year-old Clarence Goh Wei Ping was said to be heading for Jalan Rock from Jalan Song that night.
“It is said that when he reached the traffic lights at Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho he lost control of his car, skidded to the right side of the road and crashed into a tree.
“He suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead by medics at the scene,” he said in a statement.
Alexson noted that during the accident, it was raining and the road was wet.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
