MIRI: A 22-year-old man ran amok on late Saturday evening after hearing the sound of a door slamming.

In the 6.45pm incident, the suspect suddenly went berserk after his elder brother slammed the main door of their workers quarters.

The suspect smashed at least six flower pots worth around RM150 outside the workers quarters.

According to Miri police chief, ACP Hakemal Hawari, the suspect was detained on Sunday afternoon around noon at a plantation workers’ quarters at Batu 8, Jalan Miri-Bintulu Lambir to assist police investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.
