SIBU: A man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment after he was involved in a car-lorry accident at Jalan Lanang here on Sunday (Apr 25).
State Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident took place around 4.30pm when both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.
“The victim, identified as Louis Soden, 37, was heading towards town when his vehicle went out of control and swerved into the opposite lane before colliding with the lorry.
“The victim was seriously injured and was rushed to Sibu Hospital by members of the public for immediate treatment,” he said.
However, Louis succumbed to his injuries at 6.59pm while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Alexson added that the lorry driver, 45, was unharmed in the accident and the case is still under investigation.
A team of firemen was present at the scene to carry out a flushing operation to clear the oil spill and debris.
