MIRI: Police are currently hunting down a group of men who kidnapped another man in broad daylight in front of an eatery at Jalan Bintang Jaya 2 on Tuesday (Aug 18).
District police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah, who confirmed the case, said the police were already tracking the suspects.
The kidnapping that occurred in the afternoon was caught on video and it went viral in social media.
The victim was found alive at a bank hours later in front of Mega Hotel.
“We have yet to identify the motive behind the case because we are still tracking the kidnappers.
“The male victim was found alive around 7pm and was taken to the police station,” he said.
Lim added that the case is being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code.
