BAU: A man was arrested for allegedly engaging in online gambling activities during an operation dubbed Ops Dadu on Tuesday (Feb 15).
Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon said the operation was conducted at 3.45pm by the district’s Criminal Investigation Department.
The 22-year-old suspect was picked up at a house in Taman Emas here.
Also seized from him were a phone and some cash.
Poge added that the man does not have any past record.
The seized items and the suspect were taken to the police station for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 which carries a maximum punishment of RM50,000 fine and three years of imprisonment upon conviction.
