Man sustains broken leg in Serian mishap

SERIAN: A male driver sustained injuries to his legs after the pickup truck he was driving in, swerved and crashed along Jalan Kuching-Serian on Tuesday (Dec 6).

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call around 9.40pm pertaining to the accident.

Firemen from Serian station were promptly despatched to the scene near Taman Anggerik junction.

Upon arrival, they found that three victims were involved in the accident and two of them have been brought out of the vehicle by passers-by.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old driver complained that he could not move his legs and he was rescued out of the vehicle by the team using special tools.

The victim, who sustained injuries to his right leg and a broken left leg, was later handed over to the paramedics to be taken to Serian Hospital for further treatment.

The team returned to the station after wrapping up the whole operation around 10.13pm.
