LIMBANG:  A 40-year-old local man who went missing since Monday in the jungle at Kampung Merasam, Jalan Meritam, was found alive at 7.50am today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s operation centre spokesman said the victim, identified as Mohamad Saiful Harun, was found by the Search and Rescue team (SAR) and villagers.

“He was found alive but in a weak condition as he has went missing for a few days. He has been immediately escorted out from the area,” said the spokesman, adding that the case has been handed to the police for further investigation

On Monday, Saiful had entered the jungle to check on some traps that he had set up earlier, however, he had failed to return home. His family had alerted the authorities while a search and rescue operation was launched.
