LIMBANG: A man and a woman were killed in a motorcycle crash yesterday morning (Oct 28).

According to a Borneo Network Facebook post, Limbang district police chief Supt Parum Niot said the incident took place at Jalan Kubu heading towards Limbang city centre.

He said the fatal accident happened at around 3.30am in the morning.

The victims, Vanessa Sidu, 23, of Kampung Bambangan and Mohammad Hizan Nyalang Abdullah Mohd Saharulnizam, 18, of Kampung Lubok Lasas, died at the scene.

“Initial investigation found that Vanessa lost control of the motorcycle, hitting the cement pedestrian walkway and collided with the steel fence and the street light post on the road divider.

“Both victims were thrown off from the motorcycle and onto the road. They were unconscious and sustained serious physical injuries,” he said.

Their bodies were brought in to Limbang Hospital for autopsy, and the accident is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
