Manhunt for armed robber, public information needed

This is the man wanted by the police for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery case in Bau.

KUCHING: Police are currently on the hunt for a local man, presumed to be armed and dangerous, for allegedly robbing a premises with a pistol in Bau.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said the suspect is identified as 36-year-old Houstin Bilong Usat from Long Ikang, Miri.

“Police have confirmed that the robbery, which involved the use of a firearm, took place around 10.05 pm along Jalan Jambusan on May 5.

“The suspect fled the scene after the incident,” he said in a statement.

He cautioned the public against confronting the suspect if spotted, as he is considered dangerous.

Instead, they are encouraged to report any sightings or provide relevant information to Bau Criminal Investigation Division (CID) chief ASP Francis Boniface Barau at 012-7100711 or the Bau police station at 082-763311.

Mancha also warned the public against spreading misinformation and urged them to refrain from speculating about the case.
