SERIAN: Police have launched a manhunt for a teenager accused of raping his 24-year-old disabled neighbour.

District police chief DSP Aswandy Anis said the incident came to light when the victim delivered a baby boy on July 18 this year, at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), prompting the victim’s mother to lodge a police report on Tuesday.

Aswandy pointed out that the victim’s family did not know or realised that she was pregnant.

“The victim, a slow learner, was raped by the 17-year-old at her house at Kampung Jenan when the complainant wasn’t at home,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He pointed out that the police were still tracking the suspect who had run away when the police report was lodged against him.

The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
