MIRI: Miri Mayor Adam Yii has urged members of the public to promptly register for the Covid-19 vaccination for their own safety and the safety of the community.

He made the call yesterday during the Miri City Council’s 6th Ordinary Zoom meeting.

The state government, he said, had intensified its effort to vaccinate the majority of the people residing in Sarawak under the nationwide Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

He added that there were many channels to apply for the vaccination.

“A convenient way is to register through the MySejahtera application. Those who have not downloaded the app can register through their family members,” he said.

Yii added that the Miri District Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) decided on June 23 this year to set up the Miri Division Vaccine Ops Room via WhatsApp (only) at 011-59284348 and 011-59424290 to assist Mirians with enquiries about the change of vaccination centres for residents of Miri who had been given vaccination appointments outside the Miri district.

The public can also apply to the operations room for Covid-19 vaccination for those aged 50 and above.

The message to the operations room should contain relevant personal information such as full name, identity card number (IC No), house address and telephone contact number.

Yii advised those who had received the jabs to remain vigilant and to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
