KOTA SAMARAHAN: Marr SC squad wrote an own history after emerged champions of the state level Sports for All Football League Championship (LSUs) 9-a-side 2017 held at the football field of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kota Samarahan Campus 2 recently.

Marr SC, who were reinforced by two former Sarawak players, Saravanan Mutiah and Mohd Najib Yassin, however, had to struggle before winning 3-1 over Sambir Bistari on penalty shootout after both tied 1-1 at full time.

The victory gave Marr SC RM2,000 cash prize, a trophy and medals while Sambir Bistari, the runners-up received RM1,500 and medals.

Meanwhile, the Flying FC and Kasika CF who lost in the semi-finals each received a cash prize of RM700 plus medals after finishing joint third.

A total of 24 teams competed in the two-day tournament organised by the Sarawak Youth and Sports Department (JBS) in collaboration with UiTM Sarawak Branch Samarahan Campus and Asajaya Community Sports Club.

Samarahan division Youth and Sports Officer, Syed Zyed Wan Asnawi gave away the prizes.
