Marudi, Telang Usan now green zones

MIRI: Two districts in Miri division, namely Marudi and Telang Usan are now accorded green zone status, revealed Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin today.

“Besides these two districts that have turned into green zones, six longhouses in Beluru and Subis are under lock down while seven have been released from lock down,” he disclosed.

Those six longhouses that are still under lockdown include five in Beluru namely Rumah Nelson; Rumah Pengabang; Rumah Mathew Tiri; Rumah Lawang and Rumah Bayan plus Rumah Clarence in Subis.

“For Rumah Nelson in Beluru , the lockdown would be ended on Feb 13 , while Rumah Clarence in Subis is under lockdown until Feb 16. Lockdowns for all the other longhouses end on Feb 21,” Lee said.

For the seven longhouse that have been released from lockdown since Feb 3 and Feb 8 are Rumah Emah; Rumah Apol; Rumah Anthony; Rumah Chabu; Rumah Justine; Rumah Sabang and Rumah Long Jeeh.

The minister disclosed this after chairing a meeting with acting Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf on Covid-19 operations.

People in Miri must be more vigilant and continue to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs), reminded Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman.

Commenting on the latest cluster in Miri, namely the Seruas Cluster in Beluru which has now infected a lot of people, Lee urged the public to continue adhering to the SOP guidelines issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

On funeral SOPs issued by Unit For Other Religions (Unifor) and the Council for Native Customs and Traditions (Mais) during the Covid-19, public members are reminded to continue their compliance with the SOPs to curb the spread of the virus.
