KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing has distributed a total of RM3.17 million in minor rural project (MRP) funds to various Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), women bureaus, associations, and clubs in Sarawak this year.

The first phase of MRP fund distribution amounting to RM1.8 million was presented in June this year in Kapit for 91 JKKKs.

In the second phase, 39 JKKKs received a total of RM461,500 in MRP grants followed by another presentation totalling RM909,000 for 87 NGOs, associations, clubs, and women bureaus.

“We keep the ceremony brief and small with only 10 recipients invited for each of the morning and afternoon sessions.

“This is to ensure that all requirements of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to,” said Masing after a presentation ceremony at his office on Tuesday.
