KUCHING: The management committee of Masjid Al-Taqwa in Gita here is taking precautionary measures to curb the spread of the Covid-19 infections among its congregation.
Its chairman Kamaludin Sarkawi said the mosque will continue to perform congregational prayers whilst tightening its control measures.
“We are asking for sanitisation work to be carried out with the cooperation of State’s Health Department and we have just stocked up our hand sanitisers for worshippers.
“We also shorten the Friday sermon following the announcement made by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.
He called on worshippers to perform ablution in their own homes before heading to the mosque.
