KAPIT: Massive logs were seen adrift along Sungai Kapit that posed a danger to river commuters.
Sungai Kapit is a tributary of Rajang River located at the lower part of Kapit Town proper and the Bletih New Township. Its estuary separates Kampung Baru and Kampung Muhibbah Bletih here.
The source of the river comes from the foot of Bukit Goram that flows some 15km into the mighty Rajang River.
The continuous heavy rainfall since Monday evening till yesterday morning has caused the water level to surge up more than 10ft.
The massive log jam is certainly a danger to those who travel by longboat and those residing along the riverbank.
