MIRI: MASwings marks another milestone at the signing of Charter Agreement with Rurum Kelabit Sarawak (RKS) on Wednesday.

This agreement will bring extra flights to Bario, Sarawak in conjunction with the upcoming “Pesta Nunuken Bario 2017”, which will be celebrating their 12th year.

Bario Food and Cultural Festival is an annual 3-day event celebrating the unique food, farming, forest and cultural heritage of the Bario Highlands– one of the last surviving ‘intact traditionally farmed and forested’ highland watersheds in Sarawak and East Malaysia.

This year’s celebration will take place from 27 to 29 July 2017 and is expected to be more exciting with the attendance of Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, as the guest-of-honour.

MASwings, as the community’s airline, is the sole operator for Sabah and Sarawak’s Rural Area Services (RAS) and has been a necessary connector between the people in Bario to other towns in Sarawak.

Currently, MASwings are operating three-time daily flights into Bario with its DHC6 Twin-Otters; and all flights are full throughout the event dates.
