KUCHING: Representatives from Maxim E-Hailing recently had a discussion with the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).

In its press release, Maxim said the main topics of the discussion were the process of applying for an EVP (E-Hailing Vehicle Permit) by new drivers as well as its renewal for the current drivers.

“The result of the discussion is that current drivers must renew their EVP licences.

“Since this information had not been previously brought to their attention, Maxim’s employees proceeded to update their data in the system,” it said.

It also added that the company was eager to legalise drivers and was continuously informing and reminding them about the importance of the EVP licence.

“To obtain the EVP licences from Maxim, drivers are required to contact its nearest office or request from the drivers’ mobile application ‘TaxSee’ and submit all relevant information.

“Afterwards, Maxim will send to APAD for issuance of EVP licence and then, Maxim will provide the driver with the EVP licence as soon as it is obtained,” it added.

Maxim said in accordance with the current e-hailing regulations, only drivers performing passenger orders were required to have EVP licences.

“Drivers who are providing delivery and courier services are not required to obtain the EVP licences. They can continue to provide services without EVP licences,” it added.
