Wee distributing face masks and face shields to hawkers at the Kenyalang Market

KUCHING: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) distributed face masks and face shields to hawkers in markets under its administration.

Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng and fellow councillors handed out face masks and face shields at the Stutong Community Market and Kenyalang Market here on Friday (Oct 29).

The face masks were donated Tay Motor Sdn Bhd managing director Aaron Tay, who was also present.

“We still need to wear face masks and face shields, especially when in public.

“Doing so will protect hawkers as well as the customers.”

At the same time while at the Kenyalang Market, Wee presented Covid-19 vaccination certificates to the Kenyalang Market Liaison Committee leader.

Kenyalang Market is the second market in MBKS area with this certification that says all their operators are fully vaccinated.

The distribution of the certificates would be done in stages at all markets under MBKS jurisdiction.

He noted that the certificates were mainly for the stall operators and workers who have completed vaccination.

“We must assure our customers that it is safe for them to enter the premises. Everyone’s cooperation is very much appreciated.”
