MIRI: The collection of parking fees at Miri City Council (MCC) areas is set to resume tomorrow.

In stating this, Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang said the decision was made in view of the decision of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to allow the operation of various economic activities under the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

He said MCC had instructed the operator of Borneo Parking System to prepare the collection and execution of parking fees.

The council also decided to allow operations of all public parking under its jurisdiction starting tomorrow.

“We would like to remind the public to adhere to the CMCO’s SOPs (standard operating procedures), namely to observe social distancing, maintain good personal hygiene by frequently using hand sanitisers or hand washing with soap and water, wear face masks and avoid any large group gathering in the parks.”

As for the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Miri, Yii said it would remain closed until further notice by the federal government.
