MCMC makes courtesy call on CM

KUCHING: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.

Led by its chairman Al-Ishsal Ishak, the visit aims to find and identify opportunities to collaborate with the state government to achieve the Digital Economy through the Sarawak Digital Economic Strategy 2018-2022.

At the visit, Al-Ishsal also informed the chief minister about the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2019 to be held on July 8 and 9, as well as on the use of technology in the agriculture, nutrition and other industries.

According to him, MCMC and the Sarawak government will continue to work together to ensure that the communications and multimedia industry can be improved including the use of 5G technology.

Also present was Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) general manager Dr Zaidi Razak.
