BAU: Police arrested a mechanic who went amok and damaged properties in his parents’ house at Kampung Serasot last Friday (Jan 7).

The incident happened around 10am when the 28-year-old suspect suddenly went on a rampage and damaged the drying rack, plates and bowls.

After that, the suspect cleared the mess and left the house, but not before taking two machetes from the kitchen.

The suspect’s 50-year-old mother who did not suffer any injuries, lodged a report against her son at the police station here.

Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon, who confirmed the case, said a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team arrested the suspect on the same day.

“The suspect also surrendered the machetes to the police. The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing damages through act of mischief,” he said.

Meanwhile, in another case, a 26-year-old man was arrested for stealing his sister-in-law’s motorcycle in Kampung Daun Singai on Dec 13 last year.
