Medan made Merdeka Award Trust Trustees Board member

Medan has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of The Merdeka Award Trust.

KUCHING: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad chief executive officer Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah and Country Chair of Shell Malaysia Siti Hurrairah Sulaiman have been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Merdeka Award Trust.

According to a press release, the announcements were made online in the Merdeka Award Portal.

Medan has had a long association with Merdeka Award Trust and was in fact Secretary of the Board of Trustees at one time when he was working with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas).

“Datuk Medan was instrumental in the setting up to two additional programmes under The Merdeka Award Trust, namely the Merdeka Award Roundtable Discussions and The Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment for young Malaysians,” it said, yesterday.

The Merdeka Award Trust was established by Petronas, ExxonMobil and Shell on Aug 27, 2007 to recognise and reward excellent individuals and organisations whose works and achievements have contributed to the nation’s growth and inspired greatness in the people of Malaysia.

The Royal Patron and Chairman of the Award is Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah.
