Meradong students get incentives

BINTANGOR: Sixty-eight students who achieved excellent results in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2021 examination in the Meradong constituency have received incentives from the Meradong DUN N.46 Service Centre amounting to RM17,600.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) news report, Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said with the incentive, it was hoped that it would inspire students to continue to strive for excellence in their education in the future.

He also called upon the young generation to always remember the message of the former Chief Minister, the late Pehin Sri Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Dr Adenan Satem to safeguard the rights of the state.

The Incentive Presentation Ceremony for SPM 2021 Excellence Students was held recently at the Bintangor Community Hall.

There were a total of five students who obtained 10A results, seven students with 9A results, four students with 8A results, 12 students with 7A results, 19 students with 6A results and 21 students with 5A results.

Earlier on, Ding attended a brief ceremony to hand over the Rural Small Project (MRP) cheque at the Meradong DUN Service Centre.

The cheque amounting to RM5,200 was handed over to four recipients representing the Parents-Teacher Association (PTA) of SJK (c) Hua Nam and SMK Bandar Bintangor, Pertubuhan Persaudaraan Silat Mayang Mengurai Sarawak Wilayah Meradong and MSS Sports Club Sarikei Division.
