TEBEDU: The Sarawak Merdeka Ride Convoy has become a popular and significant event that fosters patriotism among the local community.

Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada said this annual celebration, which has garnered positive responses since its inception, aims to honour and commemorate the date of Sarawak’s independence.

In his speech at the Tebedu district-level Sarawak Merdeka Ride Convoy today (July 11), he highlighted that Sarawak’s progress is not an overnight accomplishment.

It is the result of the dedicated efforts of past and present leaders, as well as the cooperation of the people who support the government’s plans, he said.

Dr. Sinang called upon all parties to appreciate the collective efforts that have brought the state to its current state of development.

The Tebedu Merdeka Ride Convoy, led by Dr. Sinang himself, started from the Tebedu Community Hall, passing through the Tebedu Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security Complex (ICQS), Kampung Daha Kisau, and concluding at the Sarawak Government Administrative Centre in Serian.
