BAU: An unemployed man was arrested for possessing drugs weighing 1.18g today.
The team noticed the 20-year-old man in a suspicious manner and inspected the
District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the arrest was carried by a NCID team around 11am in the town’s market area.
“Inspections found a transparent plastic packet containing crystalline lumps believed to be methamphetamine placed in his shorts.
“The drugs 1.18g of meth valued at RM100, was seized and the man was brought to the police station for further actions,” he said, adding that the man had a past record.
The man is being remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
If convicted, the man can be fined not more than RM100,000 or jailed not more than 5 years or both.
