KUCHING: 6000 participants turned up for the third Milo Breakfast Day 2017 (MBD2017) held at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak here yesterday morning.

According to Milo Business Executive Officer, Philomena Tan, Kuching is the third location out of the event’s  seven locations.

“Our event’s objective remains the same – to advocate the importance of starting one’s day with breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day.

“The best breakfast is a half portion of fruits and vegetables, a quarter portion of carbohydrates and a quarter portion of protein, complemented with a mug of Milo.

“Milo has Protomalt and Vitamin B which are essential to provide energy and also to release energy from the food that we take,” said Philomena in an interview.

Apart from the 3km run, other activities included football, lucky draws, Zumba performances and BMI checks.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU), Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, in his speech, said that his council would organise more such events.

“Besides fostering closer relationship with family members and friends, it also promotes interactions between the participants.

“And to advocate breakfast as the most important meal of the day is really important because many of us take breakfast for granted,” said Wahap.

Prior to the interview, the Mayor flagged off the race participated by 3,000 who registered themselves as runners and another 3,000 who registered themselves as non runners.

MBD2017 will proceed to Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kota Bharu and end in Putrajaya.
