The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) is keeping a close watch over the reselling of British rock band Coldplay concert tickets at exorbitant prices by scalpers.

Its minister Fahmi Fadzil said that the ministry, together with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), will be holding a meeting to address the issue and find effective measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

“Among the things that we may look into is the way the tickets are purchased, whether there should be any restrictions and conditions proposed or imposed on the organisers or looking at the appropriateness of the situation,” said Fahmi during a press conference held at the DUN Complex yesterday.

He also mentioned that MCMC will investigate the digital platforms utilized by scalpers and explore potential legal provisions to take action against them.

In light of these developments, Fahmi urged the public to ensure they obtain concert tickets from authorized sources to avoid falling victim to scalpers.
