KUCHING: The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) is committed to promoting entrepreneurship among the youth.

Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development Dr Ripin Lamat said this is following the addition of MYSED’s new responsibilities under the Entrepreneur Development portfolio which was gazetted on Jan 21, 2022.

“MYSED has planned and organised the Youth Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) in the state, which is in line with the Ministry’s strategic planning.

“It is to promote entrepreneurship among the youth in Sarawak where the target group is defined as youth between the ages of 15 and 40,” the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) quoted him as saying after the roundtable discussion with relevant agencies at a hotel here, yesterday.

Ripin added that the youth entrepreneur development activities and programmes are expected to ensure that the group gets the necessary skills and support in opening up space to develop business opportunities.
