KOTA SAMARAHAN: Police action against an errant bistro premises here has been lauded by the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS).

Its chairman Datuk Peter Minos said the raided bistro group had no entertainment permit, but only a food and drink permit from the council.

“The MPKS and the district police had repeatedly warned one bistro here not to play very loud music at night,” he said.

“Residents here also repeatedly complained to the council and police but the recalcitrant group did not listen. Now the group is facing the music…the legal one,” he said.

The police, Minos added, had no other choice thus took action.

Last week, four locals including the bistro owner were arrested by police after the premises was found to be operating without an entertainment licence.

“MPKS will work together with the police in ensuring that Samarahan will be a good and happy place to live and study in,” said Minos.
