MIRI: With the rainy season underway, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 6 (Miri Bomba) has mobilised all its assets and personnel in preparation for potential floods, says its chief, Ismaidi Ismail.

He added that the department’s assets, both land and water-based, are primed to monitor at-risk areas in Miri and Marudi.

“So far, there have been no reports of flooding incidents in Miri, aside from those occurring in the interior areas of Marudi,” he told the media after attending the monthly assembly and kit inspection at the Lopeng Bomba station on today (Jan 29).

He further explained that the department would remain vigilant, monitoring identified locations to detect any changes in water levels to enable immediate response.

Present at the event were Marudi Bomba chief Maureen Sim and Lutong Bomba chief Henry Jugah.
