MIRI: Miri City Day’s 16th anniversary will go virtual in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Miri City Council (MCC) said the event will be live-streamed via Zoom and Riam Institute of Technology Miri’s Facebook account at 9am on Thursday (May 20).

Therefore, the council is inviting members of the public to attend the virtual anniversary celebration of Miri attaining city status.

To join in on the event, Mirians can log on into Zoom using the ID (969 3007 9526) and password (216880) provided, or they can go to Riam Institute of Technology Miri’s Facebook page.

The event will kick off with the national and the state anthems, followed by opening remarks from Miri City mayor Adam Yii who will also launch a drawing contest.

There will also be a video presentation about the city to mark the launching of the event.

Miri attained its city status on May 20 in 2005 and is the second largest urban centre in Sarawak after Kuching.
