Miri cops arrest man for running amok

MIRI: A man was detained by police on Monday (Feb 21) after he ran amok at Tudan Desaras Phase 6.

Police also seized a machete measuring around 92cm and an iron rod measuring 56cm.

Around 12pm on Monday, the suspect, 33, suddenly became aggressive and damaged a car belonging to his neighbour.

He also caused some damage to the neighbour’s backyard.

Acting on a report, police apprehended the suspect at his house around 4.20pm the same day.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.
