MIRI: The Welfare, Health and Community Sub-Committee of Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch visited two underprivileged families in Piasau Utara and Sealine Senadin Jaya recently.

Sub-Committee chairman Dr Uma delivered a short talk that covered the dangers of plastics, importance of cleanliness and healthy food.

This was followed by a briefing from Roslan Ali of Miri City Council (MCC) on the services provided by MCC.

During the visit, the team also brought along stainless steel food containers to be distributed to the two families as part of the exercise to stress on the dangers of plastic containers.

The containers were donated by a group of anonymous donors and Miri MRC expressed its appreciation to them.

Such visits will be organised from time to time and more volunteers are invited to join to make the community a better place.
