Miri to host Semarak Uniti Keluarga programme says Minister

KUCHING: The Sarawak state level 2022 Semarak Uniti Keluarga (SUKM) programme will take place at City Fan, Miri on Sept 25.

The Minister for Women, Children and Community Well-being Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said various activities will be held during the programme.

“It will be held from 7am to 5pm with the inclusion of the exhibition by agencies such as the Labour Department, the Health Department, the Ministry of National Unity, our ministry and many more.

“There will be a ‘Rumah Kami’ exhibition that will showcase wedding customs, food, culture, musical instruments and spirits – visitors can see, try and taste for themselves what is on offer later.

“Such activities are important for us to get to know each other more closely because it can contribute to unity and respect for each other,” she said.

SUKM will include a work visit by the Minister of National Unity Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique to Sarawak from Sept 23-25.

The three-day programme will also include a dinner, National Unity Implementation Committee Meeting and a visit to Kuala Sibuti village.

State Unity Director Dirwana Azool said the programme was specially designed by the Ministry of National Unity in response to the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ concept inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
