Miri two-wheel rubbish bin promotion is back

MIRI: Mayor Adam Yii has disclosed that the two-wheel rubbish bin promotion is back and will start from July 1 to Sept 30.

“During the period, two-wheel bins can be purchased at RM60 for residential property, terms and conditions apply,” he said.

“The promotion is on a first come, first served basis and valid for residential properties without any assessment arrears.”

Meanwhile, the Rating and Valuation Department is organising streamer and billboard, digital poster design competitions on why paying assessment rates is important.

The competitions are aimed at creating awareness among the public on this for the sustainable development of Miri City.

First prize is RM600 while second and third prizes are RM400 and RM200 respectively. There will also be five consolation prizes of RM50.

Ratepayers are also advised to update their details such as cellphone number, email address and correspondence address with the Rating and Valuation Department. This is to ensure all assessment rates, notices and letters reach the ratepayers.

Currently, assessment rates are sent via e-billing and reminder notices are sent via SMS notifications.
