MIRI: A man is missing while two others survived when their boat, laden with oil palm fruits, capsized in Sungai Batang Suai, Batu Niah yesterday.

During the 10am incident, Yanto Olin, 34, went missing and was feared drowned.

According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief Supt Law Poh Kiong, prior to the incident, the boat was on its way to an oil palm mill near the area.

Five agencies, including Miri Bomba, rushed to the scene after receiving an alert on the incident at 10.11am yesterday.

As at press time, the victim is still nowhere to be found.

“Two other survivors, Matinus Suliadi Didah, 30 and Amdokus, 47 were rescued by anglers who happened to be fishing in the area,” he said.
