TANJUNG MANIS: A 65-year-old man who was reported missing in Kampung Serdeng on Monday was found safe today.

The victim, identified as Mohamad Rosli, was reported to have gone to the forest around 3pm to look for bamboo behind his house, not far from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Serdeng.

Tanjung Manis Fire and Rescue Station chief PBT II Khairul Basri Sulaiman said a team of firemen was deployed to the scene to start the search operation after receiving a distress call on that day around 8pm.

The operation then continued the next day at 7.30am with four teams covering an area of a 1.5-km radius from the victim’s last known location.

At 8.15am, the search team found Mohamad Rosli, who was weak but able to walk, about 800 metres from the control post.

He was then taken to Tanjung Manis clinic for medical treatment.

The search operation was called off at 9am.
