Missing man found safe

The victim has been found safe and is about to be brought to the clinic for check-up.

SARIKEI: A man who went missing since Wednesday (July 13) was found at his longhouse.

Reports received by the State Fire and Rescue Operation Centre (Bomba) said the victim, Budom Inchikong, 44, was found by a longhouse resident in a safe condition.

“The search and rescue (SAR) team received the information at 9.30am this morning and went to the longhouse, confirming that he is the missing victim.

“The victim was in good health and does not sustain any injuries. He was later brought to Nanga Wak Health Clinic for health inspection,” said the operation centre in a press statement today.

The SAR operation ended on the second day at 10.40am.

Before this, Bintangor station received a call on July 15 (Friday) at 4.37pm from Julau district police headquarters regarding a 44-year-old man who went missing.

Firemen from the station responded to the report and headed to the last known location of the victim at Rumah Abi Amut, Ulu Pakan.

Budom was last seen wearing a blue shirt and brown pants. The team commenced the SAR operation and conducted a search radius of three kilometres from the location.

It was a relief that he was back the longhouse safely.
