MMS to hold statewide education fair

KUCHING: The Market Management Services (MMS), a specialist in education placement, will be organising its next education fair statewide and in Sabah and Labuan.

The education fair is fixed to be held here on Sept 28 followed by in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Sept 2), Labuan (Sept 30), Bintulu (Oct  2), Miri (Oct 3), Sibu (Oct 4), Sandakan (Oct 5) and lastly Tawau (Oct 6).

Established in 1981, MMS, a pioneer in education placement services in Malaysia, organises three education fairs every year.

The event, which is normally scheduled for March, July and October every year, is to provide opportunities for students and parents to find out more details on study options and pathways to match individuals’ interests, career plans, budget and results.

MMS in a media release issued yesterday said its fairs for September and October this year have attracted institutions from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, US, Switzerland and Malaysia to
participate in the events.

Interested individuals, especially students and parents are welcome to visit the education fairs and meet the representatives of universities and colleges face to face to further discuss about their study plans. The organiser also reminds students to bring along their result slips or transcripts to seek offers and scholarship information.

“Most universities and colleges have intakes between March and October. This is definitely a good opportunity for students to obtain latest information and submit application during the event,” said MMS Education Placement Centre senior operation manager May Tan.

“Students who are currently studying are also encouraged to attend the education fair in order to plan for their further studies in 2020. Some participating institutions will waive the application fee if students apply for admissions on the spot.”

Courses available at the education fair vary from business, arts to sciences. Students will be able
to obtain latest information at
different education levels, from A levels, foundation, diploma, undergraduate degree to postgraduate degree.

She said another attraction of the event is the scholarships and financial aid offered by various
participating institutions.

The participating institutions of the education fair include  Australia’s  Canning College, Curtin University, Deakin University, Edith Cowan University, Griffith University, JMC Academy, Kaplan Australia Pathways, Monash University, Swinburne University of Technology, The University of Notre Dame Australia; The University of Queensland (UQ); The University of Western Australia (UWA); University of Tasmania, Victoria University New Zealand; Education New Zealand (ENZ) Malaysia; Curtin University Malaysia; HELP University, KDU University College; Monash University Malaysia (MUM); RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus; Swinburne University Sarawak Campus; University of Nottingham Malaysia Singapore; ESSEC Business School; James Cook University Singapore (JCU); Singapore Institute of Management (SIM GE) Switzerland; Business
and Hotel Management School (BHMS) United Kingdom and  Cambridge Education Group (CATS College).

In Kuching the event will be held from 1pm – 5pm at Pullman Hotel; Kota Kinabalu (1pm – 5pm) at Le Meridien Hotel; Labuan (2pm – 6pm) at Dorsett Grand Hotel; Bintulu (2pm – 6pm) at Promenade Hotel; Miri (2pm – 6pm) at Imperial Hotel; Sibu  (2pm – 6pm) at RH Hotel; Sandakan (1pm – 5pm) at Livingston Hotel and; Tawau (1pm – 5pm) at LA Hotel.
