MoA on robotics and automation certification programme inked

KUCHING: A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and Digital Economy Hub (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (DEH) on robotics and automation certification programme at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here, yesterday.

The ceremony was witnessed by Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research, Dato Sri Micheal Manyin Jawong.

The robotics and automation programme features a multifunctional desktop robotic arm. Installed with different end-tools, the robotic arm is able to perform various functions such as 3D printing, laser engraving, writing and drawing.

With this collaboration, Unimas is primed and equipped to embrace the Digital Economy initiatives of the Sarawak government towards realising Industrial Revolution 4.0 in education and manufacturing, while DEH is committed and dedicated to Sarawak’s agenda to digitalise Sarawak’s various economic sectors.

Unimas is committed in providing the nation with leaders, managers, scientists and technical specialists in information, communication and creative technology.

Furthermore, Unimas is capable of handling complex challenges of its common future through the harmonisation of IR 4.0 within its teachings and research as it welcomes the era of Digital Economy.

DEH is established with the vision to be the centre for showcasing, demonstrating, experiencing and educating the most comprehensive digital, innovative and industry disruptive technologies. It aspires to contribute to the Digital Ecosystem in Sarawak.
