Mohd Nasri appointed as acting JSPT director

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) deputy director Datuk Mohd Nasri Omar has been appointed as the department’s acting director, effective today.

He replaces Datuk Seri Mat Kasim Karim, who is going on compulsory retirement tomorrow.

The handing-over of duties by Mat Kasim to Mohd Nasri was witnessed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre today.

Ayob Khan, in his speech, said that with Mohd Nasri’s knowledge and experience, he would be able to perform the tasks and responsibilities that come with the post.

Mat Kasim, who has been with the Royal Malaysia Police for more than 35 years, joined the force in 1988 as a probationary inspector.

Prior to this, he had been head of the Databank/DNA Unit, chief assistant director (Telecommunications and Information Systems) in the Logistics and Technology Department, Melaka police chief and deputy director of Management (Administration) at Bukit Aman. –  BERNAMA
