SPAOH: A monitor lizard that had inexplicably found its way up the ceiling of a house has been captured.

Betong Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lt Desem Samuel told the media that APM was requested to catch the reptile at around 4.55pm.

“When APM personnel reached the location, which is Kampung Bungin, they found the monitor lizard in the ceiling of the house.

“They managed to capture it in less than 10 minutes. The reptile weighed 2.5kg and was about three feet,” he said on Monday (July 11).

The monitor lizard was later released into the wild, and operations ended around 5.35pm.
