KUCHING: A total of 486 apartment units will soon be available for those looking for affordable housing not too far from town.

Developed by Lee Onn Development Sdn Bhd, the Sri Pertiwi housing project which will straddle about 35.3 acres is within a new township that comprises commercial, residential, lifestyle, education, petrol kiosk, wet market and other public amenities, spanning over 260 acres of prime property opposite the MJC Batu Kawah Township.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the project was officiated by caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Tuesday (Nov 23).

Lee Onn group director Tan Kun Gee said the development was projected for completion within two years.

“The Sri Pertiwi units will be put up for sale for RM270,000 to RM295,000. We have a total of 486 units and the bookings will be opened soon,” he said.

He said it would complement the Sarawak government’s efforts to provide affordable houses to the M40 and B40 groups.
