BINTULU: Fire victims at Rumah Jungan Gerang, Batu 36, Jalan Sibu-Selangau, are still receiving assistance from various parties.

Today Senator Rita Sarimah Patrick Insol handed a RM10,000 contribution to the affected victims.

The gesture is intended to help reduce some of the burden on those who lost their homes and belongings as a result of the tragedy.

According to her, the assistance is a gesture of sympathy. She is always concerned about every misfortune that befalls the people and is dedicated to easing the victims’ burden.

Rita hoped that the victims would be patient and persist in the face of this disaster, and that they would embrace it calmly.

“We understand the suffering felt by individuals who have lost their homes and valuables,” she said. However, she expressed gratitude that there were no injuries.

According to her, for the time being, the victims of the fire are being sheltered in St Maria Batu 36 church while a temporary settlement is being built.
