SIBU: A total of 2,020 longhouse residents in the Nangka constituency have received their first dose of the vaccine.

According to Sibu District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee, the number represents 89.7 percent of the longhouse population from 31 longhouses in his constituency.

“In just four days, the mobile vaccination centre has vaccinated 2,020 longhouse residents under my constituency.

“With this, only residents from three longhouses have not yet received the vaccine injections as they are still undergoing conditional movement control order (CMCO),” he said after monitoring the vaccination process at Rumah Eddy Jemat here on Thursday.

Dr Annuar, who is also Nangka assemblyman, pointed out that four locations including Rumah John Lalong, Rumah Dick Ijau, Agricultural Training Centre at Batu 21, Jalan Oya and Rumah Eddy Jemat have been set up as mobile vaccination centres starting last Monday.

For the record, the mobile unit at Rumah John Lalong has vaccinated a total of 203 residents, Rumah Dick Ijau (507 residents), Agricultural Training Centre at Batu 21 (505 residents) and Rumah Eddy Jemat (596 residents).
