MIRI: A total 30,313 rateable properties in Miri would benefit from the 25 percent discount on assessment rates announced recently by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

This includes residential, commercial, industrial and special purpose properties.

According to Miri mayor Adam Yii in a statement, rate payers can pay their assessment bills at Service Sarawak Counter at UTC starting on May 27 (Wednesday).

“Ratepayers who wish to pay the assessment bills online can register at Sarawak Pay or Paybills to do so,” he said.

For those who have paid their assessment rates for this year, the overpayment will be brought forward to the next active bill(s) or next year.

“We are also pleased to inform that the due date for payment of the first-half of assessment rates has been extended to October 31 by the state government,” he said.
