More than 600 receive food aid

Distribution of food aid at Ulu Paku Community Hall to 137 heads of household from ten longhouses by Harden (fifth right).

SRI AMAN: The distribution of food aid through the Simanggang community service centre started in the interior of the division on Saturday.

The first stop at Ulu Paku Community Hall involved 137 households from ten longhouses while the second stop was SK Batu Lintang Multipurpose Hall, Undop, Sri Aman, involving 471 households from 24 longhouses.

Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, who is also Simanggang assemblyman, attended the distribution.

In a brief speech, he expressed gratitude for the excellent cooperation of the agencies involved in making the distribution process a success, including those from Sri Aman Division Welfare Office, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Civil Defence Force, and the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela)

The food aid was approved by the state government to help lighten the burden faced by the people during the movement control order (MCO) period.

Also present at the programme were Sri Aman Division Deputy Resident Elvis Didit and Sri Aman Division Social Welfare Officer Vivian Engkiong.
